U9Y6Under 9 Youth's Spelthorne Sports 0 Woking Cougars 6The boys travelled away to face Spelthorne Sports. The first challenge of the day was to find a parking space! With everyone safely parked the game kicked off. Right from the start the boys looked up for this one and soon took an early lead. A surging run by Jack was ended by a body check by a defender the ref played a good advantage and Chris pounced on the loose ball and slotted the ball home. Cougars were playing some lovely flowing football and scored a second when some quick one touch passing between Jack & Archie released Chris he again coolly slotted the ball home to make it 2-0 to Cougars. Spelthorne always looked dangerous on the break and they seemed certain to score but were denied by a brave sliding tackle by Archie. Cougars added a third just before half time when Jack just beat the Spelthorne keeper to the ball to bundle it home. Half time 3-0.The second half saw Spelthorne come into the game a bit more. They tried to pass the ball to their number 9 who was a big strong quick lad. Fortunately for Cougars Charlie was in superb form & together with Callum & Matt they marked him out of the game. Spelthorne almost scored on a rare visit to the Cougars are but the shot was just wide. Cougars added a fourth goal when Jack from outside the right side of the area hit a shot that flew into the top corner of the goal giving the Spelthorne keeper no chance. A fifth goal soon followed when Callum scored his first ever goal with a shot from the edge of the area that looped over the keeper. More chances fell to Cougars both Paolo and Archie went close to goals that their performances deserved. Chris completed his hat trick when he finished off another lovely passing move. The boys ran out convincing winners and played some attractive attacking football. Man of the match went to Charlie who not only was a rock at the back but showed great passing ability coming forward with the ball. Best effort went to Chris who was a constant threat up frontSquadBen, Charlie, Paolo, Jack (2), Callum (1), Chris (3), Archie & Matt U9 Youth Home page 31WOKING COUGARSThe Football Family http://www.surreyfa.co.uk/ http://www.splsoccer.com http://www.scgl.co.uk/ http://www.make-a-wish.org.uk/ http://www.wphfc.co.uk http://www.jalosty.co.uk http://www.psrcoaching.co.ukThis website was created using MAGIX Website Maker You will need the current version of Adobe Flash Player to view it.
