U9 Colts Match Reports

Last week, the Cougars enjoyed their best game ever but this week it was a big test for the Cougars, as they were up against unbeaten Premier Division side Farnham United Sharks. The game began at a rapid pace with Farnham controlling most of the first ten minutes. Cougars finally were allowed an opportunity, a shot from Jake smashed against the post. A couple of minutes later a big opportunity came our way and we bought all our defenders up. We were made to pay for this, as they planted a counter-attack and the player was one-on-one with William the goalie. Will was very unlucky not to save it and that put the home-side 1-0 up. Shortly after, Eddie had a long run down the wing and then an inch perfect delivery found our new player Alex, who was replacing centre-back Harry. Alex tapped the ball beyond the keeper and against the odds it was 1-1.Then in the last few minutes of the first half another long run down the wing by Eddie, this time he burst into the box and despite injuring himself in the process. Incredibly we were 1-2 up against an opposition three leagues above us that also was the half-time score.Early on in the second half, we were the better side. An endless run by Max delivered the ball to Eddy, who shot narrowly wide of the goal. Later on in the second half Farnham controlled the game and a few minutes later Farnham equalized with the score line now 2-2. After that goal it was all Farnham and we hardly got an opportunity, then finally, Farnham took a 3-2 lead. Few minutes later the victory was secured as they went 4-2 up. It stayed that way for a long time and until the final whistle blew and a full-time score of Farnham United Sharks 4 Woking Cougars 2.Sorry but this week there were no games that finished 4-2 so we cannot compare it to another game. Also a well deserved MOTM William.
