U9 Colts Match Reports

Today Woking Cougars were up against Claygate Royals Griffins for the first time this season as Claygate are new to division 2. Cougars began the game very well as they created chances at will, including a well delivered cross from Max, but Jake couldn’t get a touch on the ball if he had it would have been a certain goal. Then eventually a goal came a fantastic ball forward by Jamie witch looked slightly over hit so our opponents froze. But Max proved then wrong as he did very well to keep the ball from going out of play and he found Harry who placed the into the bottom corner, so 1-0 to the Cougars. Nothing else really happened in the first period so a half-time score line of Woking Cougars 1-0 Claygate Royals Griffins. The second half began just as well as the first an early shot from Charlie denied by the goalkeeper. Then 10 the biggest chance of the lot came a phantasmagorical run down the right wing from Jake and then he delivered a world class cross which came to Charlie who’s well struck shot was saved and It went for a corner. The corner came in and a memorable header on from our captain Harry came to Charlie whose shot went a fraction wide at the left-hand post. The second goal of the game came from the resulting goal kick as it went straight to Max and a unique chip found the back of the net so 2-0 to Woking Cougars now. After the goal, the tempo of the game suddenly went right down and we had to wait until the last 5 minutes for another opportunity. It finally came it was a ball into the box by Harry which found Charlie, who’s shot was saved by the goalkeeper. But it came back out for him and this time was denied by the defender on the line so Charlie was very unlucky today he deserved to score today but that was that a final score of Woking Cougars 2-0 Claygate Royals Griffins.
