Under 8 ColtsWoking Cougars Colts v Send United – 15/02/2009Send United tested the Colts defence early with good clearance by Benji and Oscar. The Colts responded well and applied increasing pressure on Send United with higher possession and play dominating the visitors half. Dan, Sam, Max and Ryan kept up the attack and resulted in 3 corners. Max took the 3rd corner and a great shot into the box lead to a fantastic goal by Ryan. The Colts continued to play well with good passing, strong tackling and shots on goal from Ryan, Sam and Max who had a great shot which came off the woodwork.Send United responded and some good defensive play by the team and excellent saves by goalkeeper, Samuel, kept the Colts at 1 – 0 at half time.As play resumed Ryan had gone into goal and Samuel was out on the field. The second half started strongly for the Colts with further good tackling and attacking by Max, Sam, Dan and Samuel. A well deserved second goal came as Max made an excellent run and hit the target.Send United lifted their game and increased their pressure requiring more defensive play from the Colts. A late surge saw an unlucky shot off the woodwork for Samuel and Oscar provided good defence against a last run from Send United.The Colts achieved an excellent result, 2 – 0, which was deserved in terms of both play and possession. MOM went to Oscar, who was also captain for the match, for his consistent defence which was crucial to the game
