U8 Youth Match Report

25/9/11. Woking Cougars Youth .v. Goldsworth Park Rangers Teams lined up with Harvey C In Goal. Sam G and Barney J in defence,Will W in midfield with Oliver B , Toby T and Alfie W up front. And Ben W SubThe 1st Half started with the Cougars kicking off, Some good passing moves with a chance falling to Will, followed by GPR threatening the Cougars goal , with two excellent saves from Harvey. A slight distraction followed for the pitch side reporter as a freak wasp sting on the leg struck down Sam, Another great save from Harvey kept the Cougars in the game , Cougars started to take control of the ball with Ben winning the ball and strong running from Ollie, and then a great pass from Alfie to Toby who finished with style for Cougars 1st goal More strong plays from Will and Barney meant the cougars finished the 1st half with the lead. 2nd Half, saw Will now in goal, cougars again started the stronger team, a free kick to Cougars in GPR`s half allowed Alfie to score a class 2nd goal. Good defence from Barney kept GPR out and another chance for Toby kept the GPR defence at full stretch , A good move from GPR led to a goal , this inspired Goldsworth Park who applied the pressure , Solid Tackles and fine defence from Woking kept them in the game , another chance for Toby, quickly followed by a Centre line free kick from Sam which wasn’t cleared by GPR allowed Toby to poke home his 2nd goal. Some good passing from Harvey and team work led to several more chances. GPR`s No 9 continued to cause problems , although the class of Alfie and Toby kept GPR fully occupied . The pressure on Cougars goal continued with fine saves from Will and last minute tackles from Barney kept Goldsworth out. A good solid team performance and a Final score of 3-1 to CougarsMOM Alfie Jaffa cakes well deserved this week .Match report Sams Dad , (mark)
