U12G6U12 G Home page Under 12 GirlsSunday 19.10.2008 Match Report.Woking Cougars U12 Girls vrs. NPL YouthJess, Emily, Alice T.,Ashleigh, Chloe, Steph, Megan, Lucy, Alice C. Having won badly last time out, the challenge this week was to win well playing in front of a big home crowd for the first time this season.Cougars quickly took the game to their opponents. They pressed forward and kept NPL Youth firmly in their own half, playing at a high tempo and always looking to get their passing game going. The break through came after 15 mins. When Chloe was first to react to their Keepers kick out. A good first touch followed by a crisp drive from 20 yards left the Keeper floundering. Cougars continued to play fluent football and went close numerous times but at 1 – 0 it was always going to be tense. In goal, Jess had little to do but reacted quickly to snuff out any rare attack on her goal.On the stroke of half time Emily made the team talk a lot more comfortable. After good work in the centre of the pitch she made room for herself and gave the Keeper no chance with a typical pile driver, again from distance.Into the second half and it was important to maintain the momentum and if anything the Girls got even better with some of their play being applauded by the opposition support.Chloe particularly was on fire. Her relentless right wing runs followed by some fantastic crosses caused NPL major problems. Following some good combination work with Steph, they fashioned another opening which saw Steph float the ball over the Keeper from an acute angle into the top of the net.Again, Jess did well when called upon but in truth had a very quiet time , mainly due to Ashleigh who was at her “Ice Maiden” best at the back. Her work allowed Alice T. to “boss” the midfield and set up numerous attacks down both flanks. Lucy, Megan and little Alice C. shared the left hand midfield berth and all had chances to add to the tally.Another good corner from Chloe saw their defender only able to find the net for an own goal. Then, with 5 mins. left,Steph again collected the ball from a Chloe cross, turned past two defenders and smashed a fantastic half volley to make it 5 – 0.General consensus was this all round performance was the best of the season so far. The girls now have 6 wins from 6 games and brand new coats from their new sponsors“Harpers of Guildford,” Landrover.Final score; Cougars 5 – 0 NPL Youth Match Award Ashleigh Cotter 39WOKING COUGARSThe Football Family http://www.surreyfa.co.uk/ http://www.splsoccer.com http://www.scgl.co.uk/ http://www.make-a-wish.org.uk/ http://www.wphfc.co.uk http://www.jalosty.co.uk http://www.psrcoaching.co.ukThis website was created using MAGIX Website Maker You will need the current version of Adobe Flash Player to view it.
