V Staines BladesWoking Cougars began their first league game against Staines Blades by dominating the first ten minutes. They had 3 attempts on goal, then whilst on the break, Kyle crossed the ball to Sam who scored the first goal of the season. Cougars had 2 more attempts on goal saved. Kyle shot from the edge of the box and the goalkeeper punched the ball out, on the rebound Sam scored the second goal.The game continued with Blades having a couple of attempts at goal which were saved by Ali and the defence remained strong. Dan had an attempt on goal which hit the woodwork, soon followed by a powerful strike from Liam outside the area which hit the bar. On the rebound Ben R scored Cougars third goal.Cougars remained strong in the second half and Ben R scored the fourth goal. A corner gave Lorenzo the opportunity to slot the ball into the net making Cougars fifth goal. Staines battled hard and came back with a goal. Cougars sixth goal was then scored by Jacob. Blades continued to fight and managed to recover a second goal. A successful triumph for Cougars. Man of the match was awarded to Kyle.
