This was a top of the table 2nd versus 3rd clash so would be a test. AJ made a good clearance before Jamie had a shot which the goalie saved before Chertsey took an early lead when no one cleared the ball in our box. Chertsey were winning the 50/50 balls. George played a nice 1-2 creating a corner, which was a great corner with no one touching it in. Aidan had a header go wide and Sid shot over. George looked through on goal only for the offside flag to be raised. Owen on for Benn who took a knock. Aidan and George were hustling well for the ball. Owen shot wide before providing a great ball in for George to equalise. Callum produced a long goal kick which Aidan headed on before a Chertsey clearance. Cougars were now winning the 50/50's. George went on a good run and Jamie tidied up nicely under pressure. Aidan was determined to win the ball and put it on a plate for Sid for Youth to go 2-1 up. Callum got hands on the ball safely from the restart. Changes made, Jack P, Owen and Jamie off - Lewis, Harry and Benn on. Lewis hit just over from a scramble. Benn had a back header cleared off the line as Youth piled on the pressure, Lewis another effort with a safe save. Lewis hit the post from a tight cross shot before hitting a great ball on the turn out of defence. Martin produced a great cross which the goalie caught, Callum made a save before another Lewis cross which the goalie caught (both goalies today are the District goalies along with George Losty). Sid went on a great run and produced a good cross after a great ball from Martin. Aidan making a lovely tidy up when running back. Callum kept a good shot out before the ball was scrambled in for a 2-2 half time score.Second half and Jamie Owen and Jack P took a break, Youth lined up Callum; Adam Harry AJ Martin; Sid Aidan Jack M Benn; Lewis George. Youth started well with a corner across the face of the goal. Adam took a long throw, releasing Sid who crossed high but over Benn's head. Lewis pulled the ball back to find the keeper before a Sid blockbuster from which Harrison saved 3 times. Finally the pressure told, Sid hit a shot well, the goalie fumbled and George scored from close range. Jack P, Owen and Jamie on; George, Sid and AJ off. Callum came out smartly to narrow the angle before Aidan had a good shot. Jack P was strong in the tackle as was Lewis. Harry off and Sid on with Lewis now centre back (Lewis played up front, midfield and defence in the same game). More Youth pressure with Jack M having a strong shot, and Owen a shot saved before he hit over too. And another Owen shot saved. The relentless pressure told, a Sid cross, Jamie was in the mix with Benn hitting the back of the net for 4-2. Sid glanced a header wide with Aidan taking a rest and Harry on centre mid. Sid had energy left for one more power dribble which Harrison saved from. Final whistle went.Moment of the match was Martin for his wonderful pass to Sid.Man of the match was Aidan for a monster performance all over the pitch.
