U11 Youth Match Reports

Surrey U11 Premier LeagueSunday 13th November Worplesdon 2 Woking Cougars Youth 5Oh what a beautiful morning, oh what a beautiful day, I have a wonderful feeling, everything is going to go our way Thanks Tony for the reminder about the match report, after my return from the garage for coffee and bacon bap! Jamie/AJ/Ad’s started as subs. All attending observed a minutes silence in respect of Remembrance Sunday. Withing 8 minutes ‘W’ (Worplesdon) advanced with some nice passing and Cougars were 1 – 0 down. Next thing “Harry has claret in his mouth!”. Another ‘W’ attack, 2 – 0 down. Foul on George, Martin free kick and O with a shot on goal. After 20 mins subs were due, Martin for Adam, Harry for AJ and Jamie for O. Minutes later an interception from Lewis, great ball wide to Jamie, resulting in a throw, this gave the goalie a tricky save which tried very hard to keep hold of it, but it slipped through and Cougars earned their first goal, thanks to Jamie. 2-1. Cougars started to play some nice footie. Beautiful backline tackle from Jack received no whistle, so play resumed with a sweet ball to Jamie, left wing. Callum was forced to make a save. Benny had a little ‘fandango’ moment and moved play onto George in the ‘W’ half. Sid cross to Aidan 2-2. Liam all excited now “Do you want this now Cougars?”, “Pass, pass, pass, shoot”. Jack to Jamie, ‘W’ save. Just before half time the sideline witnessed mesmerising passing between Jamie, Benny and O only to have a shot rebound off the post straight into the goalies safe hands. Half time arrived with Cougars on a scavenger hunt for a cap for Callum and ‘W’ attacking downhill. After a George sandwich, Cougars received a free kick which reached the safe hands of the ‘W’ keeper. Jack’s brilliant defending gave ‘W’ a corner which flew across the goal mouth. Aidan and George both going for the same tackle resulted in a ball to Sid being called offside. A quick throw in from Ad’s to Sid produced a cross to Benny, burying it to make the score 2-3. Straight from the whistle ‘W’ advanced quickly, looking very dangerous, but another quick throw from George to Sid gave us a quick goal, 2-4. Totally lost track of who was subbed by this time! A soft cross by Cougars straight to the keeper. Another shot on goal after a run by Sid down the right wing. Shortly followed by a ‘W’ corner not resulting to anything. George on for O. Sid on for Lewis. Sweet passing between Lewis, George and Aidan. ‘W’ came straight back at Cougars to be faced with AJ, who landed on his bottom, but getting a touch to divert play long enough to recover, getting the ball out for a throw in. A cross from George made the ‘W’ keeper leap to catch. A back header from Benny in the ‘W’ goalmouth to George who buried another goal 2-5. Cougars confidence is at a high and their passing game is being admired. Just before the final whistle Aidan controlled the ball and brought it down for another attempt. Final whistle received with words from Liam “Your confidence came, passed every ball, you were first to every ball”. Moment Of The Match = George, for his great ball to Sid. Man Of The Match = Lewis, for playing well in 3 different postitions.
