Sid took a great corner right across the goal mouth that just needed a touch in, but the ball skidded through to the other side, with the second corner being cleared. Colts attacked from their right and hit a good shot that went in. It wasn't long before Colts got a second, scored from a free kick taken by former Cougars player Lewis, put into the box and headed in. Cougars came back well and penned Colts into their own box with Jack P lobbing in a goal from a corner. Colts were playing through balls for their strikers to chase and Harry had to be quick to clear on a chase back. Aidan picked a lovely long pass wide to Sid who was strong throughout. Callum left his box to clear well. One of the moves of the match saw Lewis pass to Aidan who slipped the ball to George who sidestepped the keeper but the ball was cleared off the line and in the follow up Sid hit wide. AJ came on for Harry, Owen for Benn and Jamie for Lewis. George was put through but hit the ball wide. Colts played direct and hit an early ball over the top of Callum for 3-1. Jack P had his running boots on to clear on a chase back and Youth survived some pressure to scramble clear. Sid created several corners consistently running at the Colts left back. This was creating pressure but the ball was not falling to any of the Youth players in the box. 3-1 Colts half time.Cougars started the second half uphill and with the same 11 that finished the first half. Youth had a lot of possession and Callum had little to do other than take goal kicks but there were few clear cut chances created. Jack M dragged a couple of shots wide, Colts substitute goalie made some good saves, one from Owen, he was safe from a good Sid shot and saved from Aidan twice. Lewis came on for Sid, Harry for Jack P, Jamie for George. Colts stayed strong in the last 10 minutes playing downhill and seeing the game out. Final changes saw Sid back on and he went on one more long run taking the ball all the way and slotting past the keeper for 3-2. Colts pressed forward again and having turned the Youth defence, one of the forwards was through in the box and the ref said penalty when Martin challenged. Lewis slotted the penalty past Callum and the final whistle went. Moment of the match: Jack M for being hungry to win the ball and getting his head up to pass the ball.Man of the match: Jack P for playing his way out from the back and timing his tackles well Woking Cougars FC To see all content, you will need the current version of Adobe Flash Player to view it. |
