Sunday 9 OctoberWoking Cougars Youth 4 Windlesham Crusaders 2Starting line up: Callum; Adam Jack P Harry Martin; Sid Aidan Jack M Lewis; Benn GeorgeA repeat of last seasons Plate final opposition on a sunny morning saw Cougars start well as Aidan had a shot which was nearly finished by George. Sid had a shot which produced a good save. Jack M made a good tackle followed by the Crusaders using their pacy forwards for the first time with Harry keeping going on a long run to force the shot wide. Windlesham then had a big strong high shot which went in for a 1-0 lead. The game went end to end, Sid producing a good cross, Jack P clearing well, Aidan making a good pass for Sid to cross and out for a corner. Harry had a good shot before Adam cleared when backing Callum up who had made the save. Cougars then equalised, a scramble in with Benn getting a touch. Then 3 changes, Owen for George, Jamie for Benn and AJ for Jack P. AJ straight into the action to make a strong clearance before Harry to Owen, a good Owen pass for Sid to score, 2-1 Cougars. Callum patted down a long shot before AJ took the ball off number 10's toes before he shot. Half time whistle goes.Second half started; Callum; Adam Harry AJ Martin; Sid Jack M Aidan Jamie; Lewis OwenHarry started with a crucial interception before Jack M had a header from a free kick. Cougars came under pressure and defended well as a group before the number 10 got to the ball just before Callum to clip it past and to score the equaliser. George on for Lewis, Benn on for Martin, Jack P for Harry. Crusaders had a good shot which Callum saved well and had Crusaders creating pressure before Owen hit a big up and under which the goalie caught. Aidan was winning many balls in midfield. Then Sid hit what turned out to be the winner from a good shot before turning provider with a good cross for an Owen finish. The formation of the team finishing the game was Callum; Adam AJ Jack P Lewis; Sid Aidan Jamie Benn; Owen George. A lovely move between Owen Benn and George ended with a clearance off the line. Final whistle.This was the closest game so far this season and Liam was happy with our pretty way of playing rather than hoofing it. Moment of the match was Sid for his assist and good cross for the Owen tap in goal. Man of the match was Callum for his saves and positioning at crucial stages of the game.
