Fun Day

The 2008 funday was held on the only summer's day this year. 12 teams took part in the Dads Tournament and it was fairly obvious from the start that this year the ability and fitness levels of the dads had stepped up a notch with record breaking bar takings being reached !Once again the top two teams went through to the semi finals where the U9's beat the U10 Girls whilst the defending champions the U11's lost in a penalty shoot out to the U16 Girls.The final was watched by a capacity crowd who saw the U9's take the trophy 2-1 with goals from Steve Hobbs and Danny Stockdale.Thanks to Puma Soccer for providing the refs and for beating the elite dads team 3- 1.

The 2007 funday was a great success with the perfect weather for the BBQ, bouncy castle and the athletic endeavours of the dads on the football pitch. Around 250 people came to the day and the crowds around the pitches caused many a heart to flutter with nerves. The first Dads Tournament attracted 12 teams representing all the age levels. The group games were played in a competitive but friendly manner. The top two teams from each group went through to the semi finals which saw the U10's beat the U7Y whilst the U11's beat the U11C.The final was a tense affair with only a Jason Chew penalty separating the two teams. With aching limbs and lungs the U10 dads proudly held aloft the shield along with their well earnt pints !
